As I've stated time and time again where your writing is concerned, I think you've essentially mastered the piece-to-camera. You do stripped back, laid bare dialogue as good as - if not better than - anyone I've seen in this game. You don't "cut a promo", you engage in a game of verbal chess with your opponent, looking for that check-mate. I can't wait to see how you transition that to the new judging rubric here, where the focus on statistical/attribute based facts is not as important as other areas. I think the way your mind picks apart, dissects and strips your opponent down to their bare bones is a real skill and you'll be a force to be reckoned with regardless of the rubric.

I think the way your mind picks apart, dissects and strips your opponent down to their bare bones is a real skill and you'll be a force to be reckoned with regardless of the rubric. Thanks. I'm actually looking forward to it. I was starting to find the combination of the super-heavy focus on facts combined with the best single RP score wins combination pretty restrictive, as if forced a lot of repetition, and it's not actually what I naturally do with Ash. The mission I've sort of reasserted myself to is to prove one of my biggest gripes with this game... the mis-characterization of the term 'Character Development.
Character Development is not a writing style, it's a writing goal. But 20 years of misuse in this game, and people now think that any piece of third-person prose that they write (or script based, or whatever) develops character, and that it's the only way to do so. I disagree, both because I feel like a lot of what is now considered CD doesn't actually convey a better understanding of a character or their motivations, while I also feel that straight shoot, considered by many to be devoid of character development, can be just as effective or more effective at revealing these things, when done right.
So that's where I'm taking Ash now. Trying to flesh out this character in as many ways possible using the style I've chosen. It may even, if one of the other feds I'm in closes, result in me defecting at some point to show that this can be done just as effectively, if not more so, in 2k or 3k as it can in micro format.

No, there'll be no defecting of any kind. I'm afraid I can't allow it additional character? Sure, go nuts.

Love this character. Love the work. Love the story and I love her style/delivery of the roleplays I've seen so far. Makes me like it more than Ash and Mysti have a bit of history lol

Thanks Atom, I appreciate that. Interested to see where things go with Ash & Mysti. Should be interesting as they're very different people.

Could easily get addicted to the Ash Scion character – haven't had a chance to read all of them yet, but the way you write, not even considering the specifics of the character, just creates a really strong presence that gives Ash depth. Like a compelling aura that makes you want to know her on a really personal level. Gives her a multi-faceted feel that I personally think a lot of people struggle to capture. Awesome work.

Hey, I've told you before that I really enjoy your writing and that hasn't changed. I am intrigued to see how you approach the slightly altered guideline. I am also looking forward to seeing the character development from you, I do believe you right and that character development can be done in all formats and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Obviously if you want to defect I won't argue with you But seriously, it's great to have you here, regardless of what brand

That's a wrap on Week One of Livewire RPing. Thanks to everyone on the brand for making it an interesting and exciting week. Based on the work I've seen so far, there are more than a few of you who I'm really looking forward to facing in a full, two-week, 3 RP cycle.
