The cameraman is standing in front of a closed door. A few seconds pass before he finally decides to knock.
"Yes?"
It's a female voice answering from the other side. Cautiously, the door opens, giving us a full view of the locker room. On a bench one of the most recent EOW signee, Helena Noir, is sitting relaxing minutes before her debut match. The presence of the cameramn doesn't really please. Shaking her head, she stands up and walks threateningly towards him.
"You guys are unbelievable... Why can't you just leave me alone? I have a match I should worry about."
"Ehm... Excuse me Miss Noir. I have been told that you skipped your scheduled interview..."
"I know, and I thought I was pretty clear when I said that I didn't want to get bothered with silly and annoying routine questions. So, why the hell are you here?"
"I've been asked to check if you wanted to say something about your upcoming debut on Livewire."
The indefinable grumble coming from Helena says pretty clearly how much she's enjoying all this.
"Fine then, shoot!"
Nothing but an awkward silence.
"Hello? You can go with the first question... Just make it quick!"
"Questions? I apologize, I'm just a cameraman... Do you want me to call miss May or mister Collins to run this interview?"
"Who?
Nevermind... We can do this without help. Just make sure you keep that thing steady, got it?"
"Yes ma'am!"
The young cameraman slightly adjusts the focus, as Helena tidy her hair.
"Well, good evening EOW fans, I am...
Who am I kidding, you all know who I am. I read the tweets, I saw your hashtags trending, I've been told you have been buzzing for weeks on forum and all over the internet. Your wait is over, the Queen Of Pain is finally in EOW. But why, of all places, I came here?
You see, this is the kind of question your interviewer should ask!"
She's obvioulsy addressing the cameraman, who shrugs, making the framing shake.
"The answer is simple enough. There are so many talented men here, but look at who's at the top of this company right now? Aidan Carlisle and Ash Scion. Two of the toughest women this business has ever known. It's safe to say that I want to face them, I want to prove everyone that I have nothing less than Ash and Aidan, I want to shut all those experts' mouth, those who keep saying I was nothing but a big fish in a small pond, and I will be eaten by sharks now that I finally reached the ocean"
Her body language, especially the way she clenches her fists, betrays her true emotions. Despite the calm tone of her voice, she's nervous, eager and almost obsessed to prove that no one is above her. That has always been her certainty, her drive and ultimate goal in every company she has worked.
"I have a long way ahead of me, before having the chance to prove it. But make no mistake, I know how to rush things. Which doesn't mean taking shortcuts or whine until the officials grant me opportunities. That's not how I play. I rather do everything I can to create myself those opportunities. Starting tonight."
She cracks a smile. Hard to tell if it's just confidence, or if that smile is hiding more devious and wicked intentions.
"Holly Rhodes. I see your hunger, your desire to be number one, and I admit I like it. That's the right spirit young girl, but unfortunately your brute strength can't make it up with your lack of experience. And it definetely won't help you once I lock you in the Fondu Au Noir.
The only one who could save you then, it's our mutual friend, Honey. That, of course, if her daddies will let her play with the grown girls. We are so different Honey. You grew up with two daddies, I've had none for most of my life.
And when it looked like I finally had a fatherly figure I could look up to, I ran from it as faster as I could. I was sixteen and alone, noting has ever been granted to me, nothing has ever been taught me. I learned everything the hard way.
The exact same way I plan to teach you this lesson tonight.
You will thank me later for it"
Pushing the camera away, she let the cameraman know the interview is over
