Hey everyone,
So first of all, a huge and sincere thank you for voting and having your say on how the brand merger should proceed. The three polls have closed and the results are in.
THE MERGER DATE
As you can see from the screen shot above, choosing to merge things now was the overwhelming winner. That is how we’ll proceed.
What this means: The Victory #3 card (found HERE) is still active and the matches are still going to happen. However, they’ll happen on Livewire #4 (the full card for that show will be posted this Sunday, October 9). By all means, continue to RP for these matches. The deadlines will be extended in line with the new fed deadlines (more details on this will follow). All it means is NOTHING is changing in terms of your matches, Victory guys – the only change is that you now have extra time to RP. Given the patterns emerging on the show with your roster, that looks like a good thing.
For the Livewire guys, nothing changes at all in terms of the schedule. It’s business as usual.
THE NAMES OF THE EVENTS
As you can see from the screen shot above, we’re tied on the name. This decision fell to me, ultimately, as Leila was looking to keep the Victory name, so is indifferent about it all. From an aesthetic standpoint, we’re going to run with Livewire and Supercharged, as the logos complement each other nicely. It also means that Livewire #4 as the next show is not impacted whatsoever.
What this means: Well, pretty self-explanatory, really. Livewire is the name of the bi-weekly show that we’re all part of and Supercharged is the name of the super show event, held every 10 weeks.
THE NEW FORMAT
As you can see from the screen shot above, we’re tied between Two Divisions and Two Game Modes. Giving the overwhelming enthusiasm over Game Mode and Leila/my own personal discussions about it, we’ve decided to push forward with the Game Mode concept.
What this means: Shortly, an OOC post will be made with three simple questions that we will add to your application. You NEED to respond in that thread, answering the three questions ASAP. We cannot stress that enough. The questions confirm which Game Mode you’ll play (micro or full), what your segment preferences are (staff written or handler written) and, finally, which wrestler(s) your character most resembles in terms of in-ring style. This will help us portray your fighters even more accurately.
NOTE: Livewire guys MUST fill this out too, and you have the option to change from what you currently do (I.E Victory guys can play micro if they wish and Livewire guys can play full RP if they wish. Livewire guys can also change their segment preferences too.)
SOME OTHER NOTES
1. I’ll be amending the graphics over the course of the next 24 hours to reflect the new, one-roster fed. Please bear with me during this time.
2. Leila and I will amend the rules to reflect the new merger. Once this is done, everyone will be notified about it and asked to go and read the new rules to ensure they understand fully.
3. I’ll be recreating the boards for roleplay posting and moving what has already been posted onto the new boards. This will NOT happen until after the Livewire deadline, however.
4. An opt-in thread for Livewire #4 will be posted shortly. Victory guys will NOT have to opt in as they already have their matches for the card. Only Livewire guys will have to opt in.
5. The Internet Championship and the Atlantic Championship will continue to exist as separate titles because they offer different experiences. The Ultimate Championship and the Heavyweight Championship will be unified, although this will NOT happen until Supercharged 2, once an Ultimate Champion has been crowned on Livewire #5. The Ultimate Champion will then enter into a program automatically with the Heavyweight Champion, leading to their unification match. Contrary to what has been said about this, nobody is being treated unfairly. Both champions would be expected to defend their titles at the super show anyway. It just so happens that the contenders also happen to hold gold. The formula doesn’t change: if you win, you’re still champion. If you lose, you’re no longer champion. Hopefully this is fully understood.
6. Any other administrative amendments to the boards will be completed over the next 48 hours.
7. There’ll be an in character sell pertaining to the merger, so we’d appreciate it if everyone could just play off that accordingly. That will be revealed on Livewire this Sunday.
8. The micro RP word limit is being increased from 750 to 900 words. For full RP, the maximum word limit remains 4,000. The move from 750 to 900 will NOT happen until after the deadline for Livewire #3.
9. We have to remove the word counter on the forum, but we will still hold any handlers to their respective game mode word limits for competitive roleplays. We’ll check the word count of each match RP and if it exceeds 900 for micro or 4,000 for full, the handler will be notified and their RP will not be counted towards judging. So don’t chance it.
10. Finally, if these changes are not to your liking and you decide that EOW is no longer the fed for you? That’s fine. All we ask is that you let us know via PM before you disappear. We appreciate that courtesy and it means the door is open for you in future if you change your mind. If you just quit and don’t tell either Leila or I, that door will not be open to you.
