~Off Camera~
"It's Unbelievable!"
Evie Taylor, shake her mane of dark curls and immediately bites her bottom lip as she tosses her phone into her purse after watching something on it. Across from her is another beautiful woman, and in this moment she is stuffing her face with French fries.
"What?"
The Blonde replies with her mouth full, taking away a bit of her hotness factor, however, the diamond on her finger flashes for the camera and the audience is now aware that she is married to someone with a rather large bank account. The ladies are sitting in central park with two cardboard boxes containing Fries. Evie sighs deeply, closes her eyes, and counts back from 10.
"10...9...8..."
The blonde laughs.
"You STILL do that? Jesus Eve. Just tell me what the fuck is going on, would you? I had virtually no patience before Clark came and with him here I have zero now."
Evie stops to look at her long time friend.
"Kah... This girl Trixie. My opponent this week. I had so much respect for the girl because she seemed to be honestly a good person but now, she's lost her mind and made me out to be this bad guy when I didn't say anything that wasn't true in my last promo. She's completely lost sight of the reason she really came to EOW and started wrestling for that matter."
Kahlan Fischer-Shields --or better known by her ring name, 'Bliss'-- smirks. "As I recall Evelyn Matthews, you completely lost sight of why you were doing this the moment you decided to forsake all of us and throw your allegiance with that preppy kid from Cali."
Evie takes a deep breath. Kahlan was known for being brash and having no filter. It was what she needed.
"I know. But once I realized it, I started to put my life back on the right tracks. Tyler is... well Tyler needs someone that doesn't have such a strong will. Someone that will follow his every whim. I just can't do that anymore and I told him so but he seems to be obsessed with getting me back. But where has he been these last few months? He couldn't pick up a phone, text me. Email. Anything. I just... It's like Mr. Parker reaching out and signing me wasn't even because of my own merit but because somehow Tyler had a hand in it. That really bothers me Kah. It means that I didn't get here because of my past accomplishments but because of him. I need to do things on my own. I don't want to be some bird in a gilded cage. I don't want to be a show puppy."
Kahlan, in a moment of sympathy, which was rare for a woman like Kahlan; reaches out to grab Evie's hand.
"Listen to me. You are who you are because of the things you chose to do. You are a fighter, a survivor. That's one reason why you and Lex connected so well. You both know what its like to have someone oppressing you and sometimes, you unintentionally go back to someone that is strong willed and demanding because deep down you think you need it to be strong, but it's all in how you pick the guy that fills that void. Lexi ended up with Ryan. Ryan tried to kill her at one point because of that whole thing with my brother but, in the end, Ryan proved how much he loved her and then got Alison out of it, Not forgetting Matthew of course. Maybe now that Tyler has shown you that you don't have to be that victim anymore, and it's your time to show him that he doesn't have to be a slave to his background either."
Evie looks astonished. Not only that her friend had said something so deep and accurate but because she had said to give Tyler another chance.
"But I'm not saying you go back with him." she quickly adds. Evie raises an eyebrow.
"Then what are you saying?"
"Like you said Eve, he wants you back... maybe he needs to play by your rules now. It's okay to play a little dirty time and again. Like you dating this Ethan guy."
Evie chuckles.
"He's okay. Nothing to write home about mind you, but he's sweet, nice. A little rough around the edges like me. I haven't told him about my past yet and that usually scares off guys."
Kahlan takes a sip from a water bottle before swallowing and replying.
"And have you spoken to Kellen?"
Evie's sighs deeply. "I have tried many times to get in contact with him but I think that ship has sailed. Between what Tyler did and me breaking his heart... I don't think he'll ever forgive me. Not like you guys did."
Kahlan smiles.
"We're family Evie. We adopt people into our lives and we rarely let go. Except when something huge happens. But Julianna is going to fight through this divorce and finish her MIT degree. And if my sister can do that, you can work through this asswipe trying to manipulate you back into his life. Let him win you back the right way and then maybe he'll prove he's worthy of you. Don't you dare change back into that uppity bitch or I will kick your ass."
Evie laughs.
"Hey, you're someone's mom now. You can't do that."
"Fuck yes I can. And I've kicked your ass before. Don't forget who trained you."
"Oh, Justin is going to hurt me?"
Kahlan kicks her under the table.
"Oww. Not cool Kah."
"I'm confident in what I taught you. Not just wrestling but the IED too. It's all about balance. Don't loose it like you nearly did the other day. Calm and controlled is key. God, I can't believe I'm saying these things, like a god damn therapist!"
Kahlan rolls her eyes in disgust.
"You'd make a great therapist Kahlan. You wouldn't sugar coat anything. I think it would truly help people that need that tough love approach."
Kahlan grumbles and she stuffs another French fry in her mouth.
"So where are Chris and the baby today?"
Kahlan swallows. "Chris was taking him to see the sights of New York. I wonder how long he'll last before Clark's crying for Mama will get to him. I think when I see his name on my phone I'm going to laugh loudly for most of the rings before answering on the last one. Just to be a bitch."
Evie laughs, which causes Kahlan to smile broadly.
"I love you Kah. I'm glad you're here."
"Well, you can't get rid of me that easy. Once apart of the Fischers, always part of the Fischers. "
Evie smiles warmly at her best friend.
